A Very Special Session Part II | Huntington Beach Portrait Photographer

You may remember this very special and emotional session I shot of my friend Kelly . These are the photos post thyroidectomy. We wanted to do the after photos at the same location to document her changes and growth along the way. I see a different look in her eyes, she is such a fighter. Her scar from the surgery starts near her left ear and ends mid throat. It is a beautiful scar, it represents strength and healing. I am so proud and honored to call Kelly one of my best friends, she has taught me more than she will ever know. Here is a little something Kelly wrote..

“I am happy to report surgery was a success. My lymph nodes and complete thyroid was removed. The process thus far has been emotional to say the least. I am so grateful for the love and support I have had from everyone. It has meant so much. To document this part of my life has helped me see myself in a different light. Thank you Sharon again for being part of this time in my life. XO”

It has been such a busy year for me and I have loved every minute of it! Just wanted to take a minute to share a few personal photos of my little ones. Taj turned 5 last month and Lani is now 2 1/2. These two are quite the pair, don’t let the love they show in their photos fool you, they are a mischievous duo!

a little collage I made for Taj’s 5th birthday, he is such an expressive little man. This is exactly how I want to remember my first baby, CRAZY and full of passion and love.

Miss Lani May has also become quite the sassypants. Love her beyond words and her sweet and divalicious ‘tude.

I am so fortunate to be doing what I love, capturing precious moments for people who truly love each other. Caroline and Moon are no exception. From our first meeting not only did I click with them, but their love shined so bright it gave me goosebumps. Caroline is also a wedding photographer, so being chosen by her out of the saturated field that I work in was an honor to say the least. I would be lying if I said I wasn’t nervous to shoot another wedding photographer’s wedding, but my nerves subsided as I documented their love on their perfect day.

The wedding took place at Heritage Park in Dana Point. The forecast said rain, but they ended up with the most gorgeous, perfect weather for their ceremony. Every detail in the wedding was absolutely beautiful and so fitting for this special couple. My partner in crime, Shannon, shot the wedding with me and we had a blast from start to finish. She did an amazing job, as always.

To Caroline & Moon, thank you again for having us with you on your magical day. It was as perfect as you two are for each other xo
